Below we have an extract from David Fisher’s E-Book which is Titled, “How to
learn any language. On your own, as quickly and easily as possible”.
“Most adults who set out to learn a language will invariably end up learning in
a local adult class. It has simply been the tradition for far too long a time.
Classes or schools have nearly always been seen as the correct method to take,
but yet, the majority of people who take this route end up failing. It may
surprise you to hear it, but learning on your own is far more effective than
learning in a class is ever likely to b
Most people think that they need to take a class to learn a
language, a teacher to guide them, and classmates to talk to. This is
completely the wrong attitude. Learning a language solo will be far superior to
a class any day. There are numerous reasons for this:
Firstly it is likely that the teacher will be using outdated
methods. I don't know why this is but teachers often use poor methods when
teaching a language. It seems that in decades of research, language teaching
has improved very little if at all.
As well as that you are likely to be in a class full of
people of different abilities. This is far from helpful as you may get
frustrated if the rest of the class is of a lower ability or you may find the
class completely useless if everyone is of a higher ability.
You will get far more productivity out of your own self study
course. Here you can work at your own pace and your own ability using a far
better method as long as you choose the correct course.
What about having others to converse with? Unless they are
native speakers, which they won't be in an adult class, then they will more
likely be detrimental to your learning than advantageous.
Unless you and your speaking partner are both advanced and
can reel off a conversation in a foreign language it is likely half of your
conversation will be in English as one of you struggles to help the less
advanced student out. A good self study course will have you talking back to it
in a far more constructive manner than in a class. You would also be far better
off conversing with a native if you can locate one than with a classmate.
For what they offer and for the amount of money they usually
cost adult classes should be avoided like the plague. There can't be many worse
ways to learn a language. You can learn more on your own in vastly less time
than you ever could in a class.”
We mostly agree with what David has to say on this matter.
You may find that some classes are better than others, but generally it is very
hard to find a school that will teach you in an efficient well structured
manner.
Overall, most people will progress far more quickly when
using a product like the HighSpeedThai system to learn the language. If you
have not learnt about the techniques that have been included in the
HighSpeedThai program to ensure rapid learning, please have a look at some of
the other pages on this website.
In terms of value, the HighSpeedThai system cannot be
compared to other methods of study. To learn the same amount of Thai that is
taught in the HighSpeedThai system by attending classes or taking private
lessons you would need to spend thousands of dollars.
